Common Knowledge

Lou assisted the Warrior of Darkness in returning Night back to Norvrandt.
A bastard child to a Hume and Elf from Eulmore, whom was given to one of Eulmore's ex assistants to caretake for her. Said man was soon to become Lou's adoptive father, and he, along with her adoptive brother, left Eulmore for Lakeland in search of solace.

She assisted the WoL in striking down the Lightwardens of Rak'tika and Amh Araeng.
After the events of Shadowbringers, she has plead her alliance to the scions, and is currently assisting within the Source in the recovery of Garlemald's fall.

Shadowbringers

Before her current life, Lou's soul once resided in the Forth. An unknown mortal, yet they had an undeniable desire to find the Light. Reckless in their action, and with immense sacrifice of aether, they had manifested themselves to The First; smothered in Light.
It was no surprise that their being perished merely a couple of weeks after, having taken a giant toll on their health. Yet, in their final moments, they knew they found what they were looking for, despite not knowing what exactly it was.

Lou was born, five years later.

Gentle, calloused hands held her close. A bitter breeze was grazing against her cheeks, having not yet felt such a sensation. It was the end of her beginning, an unfortunate start to life only to be swooped up by hands which held promise for a future. Being only a babe, she had no idea about the type of fate she was being rescued from, only the rushed voice of the man who cradled her like she was everything in his arms. A young boy, a Mystel, also attempted to coo words of reassurance to the little baby, words she had yet to understand the meaning of.
Born in Eulmore. But not to be raised there.
Her new father, a Drahn man named Cyrus, was given the child after the parents decided they had better things to focus on. Cyrus was only here to serve, and while he was not about to leave the poor child for dead, he was not about to let this city rule him for his last days. The Mystel clinging to his shirt was a secondary casualty, a boy about to be ascended. Both became his children instead.

That night was the last darkest night the family had to live within the walls of sinner's luxury. Ensuring the little bundle within his arms was secure and breathing, the newfound father headed to somewhere he knew they'd be safer to an extent; Lakeland.

- Upbringing in Lakeland
- Was around 5 when she started to learn how to swordfight
- Had a major interest in Fauna and Flora, so Cyrus gave her the surname Faunflower, and not his own surname. (Oberon).
- Was 8 when she got her steed, named Pretzel.
- Cyrus trained her to have a lot of self defence and she helps out with the Crystarium guards in Lakeland when she's a lil older.
- Tai-Rinn, her brother, stuck around until she was about 17. He left home, even though Cyrus argued heavily against it, but eventually lost when Tai-Rinn just left.
- Cyrus doesn't want either of his kids getting hurt and is scared to let them leave home because of it.
- Tai-Rinn visits Lou quite often due to his job being hired by Norvrandt's moogles. Post bitch momente.
- Lou does get envious of the fact Tai-Rinn has left home but Cyrus is VERY stubborn on not letting her leave too.
- She's about 27 when she gets into a heavy argument with Cyrus saying she can't just stick around at home forever. He gets mad, saying he doesnt want her to get attacked by a sin eater and shes like “bitch why the fuck did u train me how to fight then”
- She knows Cyrus is just. Traumatised due to losing his family thanks to said Sin eaters but she also is pretty stubborn in the desire to travel.

- Except the last bit is partially true. She's going to try (emphasis on “try”) and take down Lakeland's lightwarden and teleport herself with it's light to somewhere else entirely. She just wants her dad to see the night sky again.
- Note: horrible plan. obviously it would never work because she just thinks just because shes close to the crystarium and it's aether it should work right?? haha no bitch the fuck are you doing?
- However having mentioned inklings of her plan to her friends here and there, a certain someone caught word of her bullshit and, for the sake of not having more than one complication (The Scions) to deal with, decides to make sure this bitch doesn't somehow actually teleport herself and a massive amount of Light away from the First.
- Emet-Selch immediately tells something is VERY off with Lou. Her soul doesn't quite belong, traces of soul essences from the Forth lingering on her. An anomaly, which only makes him more suspicious of who she is.
- Lou does not know shit about any of his suspicions btw. As far as she's concerned, her only life is the one she has in the first.
- Before she became Lou, though, a Shard of Azem who originally lived on the forth decided it would be a good idea to gather a FUCK TON of aether and fuck off to the first in favour of “new adventure”. This endeavour almost killed this shard of azem, and they lived their last years on the first incredibly hindered. Until being reincarnated as a fresh vessel: Lou. A lot of Azem's personality traits is still very apparent in Lou, as it did with the previous name of the Forth Shard of Azem.
- In other words: her insanity came from somewhere. The previous shard teleported by stealing copious amounts of Aether, and probably the one before that one did too. Before kicking the bucket.
- Either way, Lou is an anomaly. Emet-Selch quickly found this apparent, as well as incredibly annoying, after deciding to subtly intervene in Lou's plot. He managed to convince her to step back and preserve her life, as well as a new tool to probe the scions with.
- He had managed to convince her that she was not the only one wanting to bring back the night sky, and he would be more than happy to direct her to the group of heroes so she could mingle with them. This way, he could both keep an eye on her shenanigans as well as the scions ones. And perhaps along the way figure out how the fuck her soul managed to end up in the first.
- Due to his soulsight being out of touch due to not using it much, he had yet to see the true colour of her soul.

Having somewhat gained her attention, he now needed to make sure she stays out of trouble until he manages to get the chance to meet the scions with her. And given she wasn’t 100% on his cause, what better way than to wait until they inevitably bring back the light to Lakeland? He knew they were very much headed in that direction.
Lou wasn’t completely sold on the warrior of darkness existing, though agreed to Emet-Selch proposal to wait and see. But lo and behold…
During the next few days before night returns, the two of them quickly discover they find one another insufferable! Yippeeeeee!!!
But due to the above, Lou doesn’t call it quits and actually, stands her ground in her wish to try and bring back the night sky. When it’s time to meet the Scions, Emet-Selch dumps Lou on them with his speech. Of course, the scions are VERY suspicious of her, and it takes a lot of time and patience for her to come across as genuine to them.
“What’s an Ascian?” “Surely, you’d know.” “… Actually I don’t?”
It takes a few weeks and another light warden down for them to lower their guard down with Lou, given how clueless she is and how willing she was to allow the scions to ask their questions and probe her at their will. Her actions also came across as VERY genuine and she was ready to put herself in danger.
She ends up getting along with the twins most. Has a sort of sibling relationship with them.
Thancred is the one she gets on with least, for the sheer reason I can see him still not trusting her until the end of SHB. She is too open to listening to Emet-Selch, despite any obvious conflict the two have at first. Probably has tried to get her to confess about her associations with the Ascian on a few occasions.
As the weeks go on, the night sky across Norvrandt is getting within their reach. During this time, Lou often questions the stability of the warrior of light, considering Meteor is harboring an unhealthy amount of said light. She’s worried about him not surviving the endeavor and often checks in on him and offers moments of reprieve.
Their time in Rak’tika has made Lou and Emet-Selch closer. She asked several questions regarding the depictions of Amaurot, and while she feels the very faintest feeling of recollection in her mind… She finds herself wanting to learn more about what the Ascian has to say about his past.
The two actually begun to meet each other, ever so slowly after the events of Rak’tika. Having pushed past their initial impressions of one another the two started to favor the company of the other, and actually, found themselves with similar ideals and thoughts.
By this time, mind you, Emet-Selch had glimpsed Lou’s true soul colour during reviving Y’shtola, hence why only now he has decided he wanted to try and speak to Lou more outside of his pop ins.

Lou is known to have reoccuring nightmares about being turned into a Sin Eater. She'd had this repeating dream since she was a young teen, and continued to have them until present day. However, she did not expect the dream to be partially prophetic, as the same events begun to play out before her.
Instead of her telltale demise, in managing to save herself in reality, meant that her brother Tai-Rinn grazed against the Sin Eater in question and got infected with Light. Not enough to transform him outright, but enough to push his aether off-balance and begin the slow torment of transformation. His eyes changed, and patches of his hair begun to turn bright.
Lou was plunged into immense guilt and practically begged Emet-Selch to slow down or stop the process entirely. Since he now knows the true colour of Lou's soul, and seeing her look to such a similar state as Azem did in the final days… He allowed it. He infused Tai-Rinn with enough Shadow to balance him out, but told her with light's influence still in favour, he would need to be re-balanced on occasion.
She couldn't look at her brother in the eyes, despite him wanting to talk and forgive. Lou makes a point of visiting her brother on frequent occasion and made the promise she will return the night to the entirety of Norvrandt, even if it meant her death.

She still remained attending meet-ups with Emet-Selch - they mostly consisted of them talking and actually listening to one another and learning what the other had to say. Emet would subtly engage on how much Lou remembers of her past life only to discover she remembers nothing. Yet, a lot of her personality is reflective of that of Azem, including her determination to keep to her promise to her brother.
He decides to bring her to his replication of Amaurot, a wip at this time. Lou only finds herself remembering memories she doesn’t recall ever having and Emet is finding himself more drawn to her because of it.
Lou is also finding herself more drawn to Emet to the faint memories she is rediscovering, though curious to learn more, she is conflicted to who she really is.
Emet finds himself pretty in love with Lou, not just because she’s a shard of Azem. Talking to her now has made him see her for who she is now, and that feeling is only amplified for who she was before. Though it is a pretty big factor in the attraction.
He’s pretty supportive of Lou and her conflict and while he wishes for her to rediscover her past self and embrace it, he also just wants her to be comfortable. He is happy she remembers, and more so she remembers him.

A few days before the final conflict, Lou actually sneaks off to Amaurot one last time to spend one final night with Emet-Selch. She admittedly did keep Amaurot a secret from the scions, due to conflict in her own heart. She promised herself she would return the Night to her family- and it would take anything to do so. Anything was what she was prepared to give.
She knows the right thing is to confront him, despite everything they had. The past wasn't here, and the future was here to stay. Lou wouldn't be able to confront him, however. He knew what was going to happen and he would never bring himself to let them both have a less sweeter end. But if he won, she would still live to see him.
Having been locked in the room they spent their final night together, there wasn’t a feasible way of Lou getting out. Sealed in by magic, and furious. But most importantly: she knew he had to be stopped.
She was about to do something stupid! The same thing she’d done in past lives, faint memories resurfacing in her rut of trying to think of a way out. It was going to hurt, but she was going to use her own aether to teleport herself out of her holding place, and only the image of the warrior of light was in her mind to help her reach out.
And she arrives to the final destination, almost spent of energy, by Meteor’s side and many others he had summoned to put Emet-Selch to rest.

Everything felt empty after that moment. Even after being told to remember, there was no denying the ache in her heart at seeing him the last time.

Endwalker

Despite everything, she continued forward. He would have wanted her to.
Lou, after having built their companionship with the Scions during the course of SHB, has now travelled to the source with the help of Beq Lugg. Her involvement in Endwalker is minimal, though she does lend assistance in thanks to the WoL and Scions saving her home. She ultimately ends up in Garlemald alongside the twins, helping the Garleans after the main events of Endwalker.
Alternatively, Lou has an alt. route where she remains in the first to make sure her world recovers.

In another time, they were known as Hemera, the current holder of the Seat of Azem.
